Advanced Integrative Medicine For Optimum Health and Well-Being
A good doctor diagnoses disease, a very good doctor treats disease, and the best doctor prevents disease, reads a Chinese proverb. It is also the motto of Dr. Mahsin Habib, a highly trained medical doctor who runs Next Health, a state-of-the-art medical practice in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Dr. Habib practices integrative medicine, a combination of state-of-the-art medicine and complementary therapies that get down to the root of a condition and stimulate the body’s own healing mechanisms in order to treat or prevent disease. Dr. Habib takes it a step further and works with patients to achieve a higher state of health. “I love helping people and making a difference in their lives,” he says. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them achieve optimum health.”
Dr. Habib: Knowledgeable in Cutting-Edge Healing Arts
In addition to being a licensed medical doctor, Dr. Habib is knowledgeable in many complementary health fields, including nutrition, exercise, regenerative medicine such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma therapy), prolotherapy and physical therapy.
Friendly, Personal Care
Dr. Habib is known for his genuine care for his patients. He is a good listener and explains things clearly. “He’s very kind and takes time to talk to me and answer my questions,” says Judy, a Next Health patient. “He’s always available and does incredible follow-up. He is also cutting edge and way ahead of the curve.”
Rethink Medicine
I have always been inquisitive and have constantly asked questions about health. This has shaped my philosophy of “Rethink Medicine”, a constant pursuit of better answers. A good example of having to rethink medicine was after my son was born. He had severe cradle rash, which spread from head to toe, and was horrendously itchy. Worse still, he had inflammation throughout his bowels, leading to weight loss.
The specialist wanted to put a feeding tube into his abdomen, which addressed the symptoms but didn’t fix the root cause. Instead, using blood tests, I isolated and then eliminated his food allergies, a constant challenge because he had so many of them. Treating only symptoms would have led to chronic eczema, asthma and acid reflux. With my treatment, after two years he no longer had any rash or inflammation, and he is probably the healthiest of my four children.
