Heart Disease Prevention

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. – ahead of cancer and every other illness. The hard part is that most people don’t know they’re at risk until a heart attack happens. Conditions that cause ongoing inflammation, such as lupus, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or rheumatoid arthritis, can also raise your risk. That’s why real heart disease prevention starts with looking at your whole body, not just running one quick heart test.

Heart disease plaque buildup narrowing an artery with blocked blood flow

Did You Know?

A standard stress test can usually only pick up a major blockage – one that has often taken years to build up. It won’t show early warning signs like inflammation, oxidized cholesterol, or insulin resistance. Our heart disease prevention program looks deeper and earlier, so we can catch these hidden risk factors and help prevent a blockage before it ever becomes a real problem.

The Next Health Solution

Step 1: Evaluate your risk. We look at your whole body, not just your heart, to find hidden risk factors early.

Step 2: Make targeted lifestyle changes. Every plan is based on your own lab results, not a one-size-fits-all list.

Step 3: Prevent or reverse early heart disease. In the original NIH-funded TACT trial, patients with diabetes who received IV chelation therapy saw a notable drop in heart disease events. A follow-up NIH trial did not repeat this result, so chelation therapy is not a proven stand-alone treatment – but based on your labs, it may still be considered as one part of a bigger, personalized prevention plan.

To find your true heart disease risk, we use:

  • Advanced cardiac labs
  • Micronutrient testing
  • Extra lab markers most checkups skip, such as HSCRP, insulin resistance, and homocysteine

Based on your results, we may recommend supplements such as Next Performance, Next Buffered C, Next Omega, and Next Cardio.

How Our Program is Different

Most heart checkups only look at surface-level numbers like cholesterol and blood pressure. Our advanced cardiac screening goes further, so we can spot warning signs years before symptoms ever show up.

  • We study your cardiovascular risk in 3D – what’s happening inside the blood vessel, in its lining, and around it.
  • Our testing can identify inflammation (one of the biggest risk factors for heart disease), cholesterol particle size, oxidation, and insulin resistance – all things a routine checkup often misses.

Benefits

  • Less inflammation, one of the biggest drivers of heart disease
  • Better blood flow and heart performance
  • More energy and overall vitality
  • A longer, healthier life
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Helps clear the body of harmful byproducts from treatments such as chemotherapy

Frequently Asked Questions About Heart Disease

Heart disease often develops quietly for years before you feel anything. Advanced testing, including 3D cardiac imaging, inflammation markers, and insulin resistance testing, can catch early warning signs that a normal checkup or stress test would miss.

Yes. A stress test is mainly built to catch major blockages, usually ones that have already narrowed an artery a lot. It’s not designed to pick up early plaque, inflammation, or the smaller changes that come before a heart attack.

Ongoing inflammation in the body, from conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, or ulcerative colitis, as well as from diet and lifestyle, can damage blood vessels over time. It’s one of several major, and often overlooked, risk factors for heart disease, alongside high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes.

In the original NIH-funded TACT trial, IV chelation therapy was linked to a meaningful drop in heart disease events in patients with diabetes who had already had a heart attack. However, a later NIH-funded follow-up trial (TACT2) was not able to repeat this result, so it is not considered a proven, stand-alone treatment. Based on your labs, our team may still discuss it as one option within a broader, personalized prevention plan.

Instead of only checking one number (like cholesterol), 3D cardiac screening looks at your blood vessels from multiple angles, what’s happening inside the vessel, in its lining, and outside it, to build a fuller picture of your heart disease risk.

Anyone with a family history of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or an inflammatory condition can benefit from early screening — even if you feel completely fine right now, since heart disease often has no symptoms in its early stages.
