Dan’s Story: Choosing Proactive Health Over Reactive Care

For Dan, coming to Next Health was about more than addressing a single health concern. It was about changing the way he approached his health altogether.
After decades of experiencing traditional medicine as largely reactive, Dan wanted something different. He had seen how most doctor visits happened only after something felt wrong, followed by a brief appointment and, often, a medication to manage the issue. But as he got older, Dan began thinking more deeply about prevention, longevity, and the importance of understanding what was happening inside his body before problems developed.
“My body is a vessel,” Dan shared. “And as a vessel, you’ve got all of these organs that you’re managing and navigating.”
With a family history that included congestive heart failure, lupus, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, and inflammatory conditions, Dan knew he wanted to be proactive. Although he had not been diagnosed with many of those conditions himself, he wanted to better understand his risks and take action early.
That desire led him to Next Health.
Through comprehensive testing, Dr. Habib gave Dan a much deeper look into his health than he had experienced in a conventional medical setting. Rather than focusing only on standard markers, the evaluation looked more broadly at metabolic health, liver function, blood vessels, blood flow, inflammation, and nutrient status.
For Dan, that level of insight was eye-opening.
“Here you get a sense of really being able to look at the full vessel,” he said.
The testing revealed areas Dan had not previously been aware of, including concerns related to gut health and low B vitamin levels. With that information, Dr. Habib recommended a personalized plan that included targeted supplements and IV infusions to help support Dan’s health journey.
Even early in the process, Dan felt a meaningful shift, especially in the confidence and clarity he had about his care. He described his consultation with Dr. Habib as the longest and most detailed visit he had ever had with a medical doctor.
“What I already feel is the amount of time and the investment he has made in me,” Dan said. “It’s the longest visit I’ve ever had with a doctor.”
Beyond the testing and treatment plan, Dan was struck by Dr. Habib’s ability to explain complex medical information in a way that felt practical and understandable. He described Dr. Habib as passionate, caring, and deeply invested in helping patients improve their health over time.
“He’s not just a medical doctor,” Dan said. “He’s a researcher, he is a scientist, and he cares.”
For Dan, Next Health represents a new kind of healthcare relationship, one built on prevention, education, and partnership. Instead of waiting for symptoms to become problems, he now feels empowered to take a more proactive role in his long-term health.
“I’m excited about the way forward,” he said. “I’m excited about this being proactive versus reactive. And I’m excited about Dr. Habib’s style and his demonstration of how much he cares.”
